Age Thrive Campaign

AGE is leading efforts with a thriving model of care.

Since 1986, AGE of Central Texas has been a unique and vital service provider for older adults and those who care for them. It offers the only licensed adult day center programs in Central Texas and has full-time nursing and professional staff, specializing in care of people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

Aging often leads to cognitive and physical challenges that make it harder for older adults to stay connected to communities and peers. Caregiving can often be overwhelming and can negatively impact the mental and financial health of caregivers.

AGE provides person-centered care rooted in compassion that treats older adults with dignity and caregivers with understanding. AGE services allow older adults to age in place longer with the independence we all desire while empowering caregivers to care for their loved ones without sacrificing themselves or their personal health in the process.

AGE provides the most affordable care available for older adults in Central Texas through licensed adult day health centers that offer therapeutic and social activities under medical supervision to serve older adults socially and physically. Participants engage in life-affirming activities such as making friends, music, exercise, gardening, brain fitness, games, special events, and art therapy. While their loved one is being cared for, caregivers go to work, school, or simply receive respite.

Rooted in Collaboration and Social Connection

AGE was originally created as a consortium of service providers for aging adults—the AGE headquarters housed multiple not-for-profit organizations with the intention of amassing critical resources and maximizing services. While AGE has consolidated some of the services of other organizations, it still works closely with partners in aging care services.

Research indicates that loneliness is the most treatable of all symptoms of aging and that if adults can find relief for their loneliness, they can hold on to everyday abilities and thus remain independent, slowing the decline rate of their disability. AGE works collaboratively with the nonprofit community to increase feelings of social connection so that no one has to age or caregive alone.

We humbly wish to help all those in need. Will you join us?
